Overview
The Challenge
Bring a more interactive and inclusive experience into the museum, leveraging virtual reality to enhance the memory of the place and recover lost objects and stories, faithfully reconstructed with historical accuracy.

The Solution
A virtual reality digital exhibit that makes the visit more accessible and immersive, offering previously lost content.

The Project
CasaGramsci VR Experience offers an innovative and engaging way to explore the Ghilarza House Museum, placing the user at the center of an immersive and interactive experience. Isolated from the external context, the visitor can have a unique encounter with a place rich in memory and meaning.
The project allows for an intimate exploration of the house and the symbols that shaped Gramsci’s thought, while the museum enriches its offering with objects and stories that would otherwise have been lost. Thanks to virtual reality and the historical support of the Gramsci Foundation in Rome, CasaGramsci VR Experience brings faithfully reconstructed memories to life for contemporary audiences.

Inside the experience
Through a simple and intuitive virtual platform, the user can choose how to interact with the elements of Gramsci’s House.
By clicking on icons associated with objects, these come to life, revealing hidden stories and meanings.
The surrounding environment, enhanced by light and shadow effects, animations, illustrations, and an engaging voice-over, creates an immersive atmosphere that captures attention and makes the experience intense and memorable.

About the design
CasaGramsci VR Experience is designed to be simple, accessible and suitable for everyone. Unlike many complex virtual experiences, it offers immediate and intuitive interaction: simplified controllers, free of buttons, allow visitors to enjoy the experience comfortably seated and completely independently, minimising the risk of motion sickness. Special attention is given to language and inclusion. Visitors can choose how to experience the journey, switching from Sardinian—a distinct Romance language and a historical minority to be preserved, with a strong and unmistakable tone—to Italian and English.
All content is accompanied by subtitles, allowing users to listen in the original language and ensuring full comprehension for the hearing impaired.
In this way, the project not only broadens accessibility but also becomes a valuable tool for preserving and transmitting Sardinia’s linguistic and cultural heritage.
Thanks to the historical expertise of the Gramsci Foundation in Rome, the platform guarantees a rigorous and faithful reconstruction, transforming knowledge and memory into an immersive and engaging experience capable of reaching a wide and diverse audience
