Overview

An integrated digital ecosystem that showcases the tourist destination, guiding different audiences on an interactive, multisensory journey: from the multimedia room at Doss dei Sabion to exploring the local area, through the use of mobile technology, gamification, and multimedia installations.

Challenge

Transform Doss dei Sabion into an experiential destination that highlights the area’s natural and geological heritage, fosters an understanding of climate change, promotes summer visits, and directs tourist flows toward less-visited areas, offering an interactive and personalized experience for both tourists and businesses.

Solution

An immersive room at an altitude of 2,000 meters and a modular mobile app—both of which can be customized for different audiences thanks to an intelligent backend—make Doss dei Sabion not only a spectacular experience but also a tool for engagement, data collection, and regional development.

The project

The Interactive DOSS Experience revolutionizes the way visitors explore the DOSS dei Sabion and the geological heritage surrounding it, transforming the visit into an immersive, interactive, and personalized experience. The integration of permanent installations with a modular mobile app enables a dynamic tour that adapts to visitors’ choices and is monitored through a scalable backend and advanced analytics. An experience updated seasonally, always fresh, aimed at two main types of audiences (tourists and business visitors), and one that guarantees ongoing value for the region.

For tourists: educational content, immersive scenarios, and an app with outdoor gamification elements make the ascent to the summit a motivating experience in all seasons, even for schools and groups. The result: a longer average stay and a more balanced distribution of tourist flows.

For the business audience: a multimedia room and a customizable app for events, presentations, and team building. The Doss room becomes an exclusive space for brands seeking unique formats, with the possibility of ad hoc content and premium creative formats.

Inside the experience

Inside the Hall, visitors are transported to the very heart of the mountain. Thanks to video mapping, they are immersed in a journey through time that explores geological eras, from the Big Bang to the Cenozoic, all the way to the period when the area was submerged by the ocean. The experience is highly immersive: interactive sensors detect the audience’s movements, triggering real-time reactions in the surrounding space. The journey concludes with a moment of great impact: the opening of the curtain reveals today’s spectacular panorama, thus completing the journey through the history of the mountain, just like in a real-life time machine.

Visitors using the mobile app can extend the experience to the surrounding area, following an interactive route with quizzes, points of interest, and challenges that stimulate curiosity and discovery. The scores collected generate personalized scenarios in the exhibition space, a feature that boosts engagement, repeat visits, and social media virality.

Business audiences, on the other hand, enjoy a personalized experience tailored to the host company. Video mapping allows the venue to host product launches, conventions, artistic performances, and experiential dinners in collaboration with local restaurants.

About the design

he experience is designed to guide visitors from the outdoor area to the exhibition hall, featuring a customizable route that combines physical exploration, gamification, and interactive multimedia content. It is a scalable format suitable for various thematic content (seasons, wildlife, educational trails) and can be replicated thanks to its modular structure.
